Acrokeratosis paraneoplastica

A rare paraneoplastic syndrome (Bazex syndrome) with psoriasiform, violaceous scaling on the hands, feet, ears, and nose, associated with an upper aerodigestive tract malignancy.

Allergic contact dermatitis

An eczematous, vesicular rash on the feet in a pattern that corresponds to contact with an allergen, such as components of shoes (e.g., rubber, leather tanning agents).

Juvenile plantar dermatosis

A condition in atopic children causing a dry, shiny, glazed, and sometimes fissured erythema on the weight-bearing surfaces of the feet, sparing the arch.

Palmoplantar pustulosis

A chronic, recurrent condition characterized by crops of sterile yellow-brown pustules and scaling on the soles and palms.

Pityriasis rubra pilaris

A papulosquamous disorder that causes a characteristic orange-red, waxy keratoderma of the palms and soles, described as a "PRP sandal".

Recurrent plantar peeling

Also known as keratolysis exfoliativa, this is a benign condition with focal, asymptomatic peeling of the superficial skin of the soles.

Sezary syndrome

A leukemic form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma that can cause a diffuse, infiltrated, and scaly erythroderma involving the entire foot.

Tinea pedis

The most common cause, a fungal infection presenting with scaling, maceration between the toes ("interdigital"), diffuse scaling on the sole ("moccasin"), or an inflammatory vesicular rash.
