Folliculitis is an inflammatory condition with pustules centered on hair follicles, whereas KP consists of non-pustular, keratotic plugs in the follicles.
This condition presents as pinpoint, flat-topped, shiny papules that can be arranged in a linear fashion (Koebner phenomenon), a different morphology than the spiny follicular papules of KP.
This is characterized by grouped, spiny follicular papules that form discrete plaques, a more organized presentation than the diffuse "goosebump" appearance of KP.
Milia are tiny, discrete, white, subepidermal keratin cysts, not the follicularly-based, rough papules of KP.
This is follicular hyperkeratosis due to severe vitamin A deficiency, and is often more widespread and associated with other signs of malnutrition.
