Immediate Aftercare (First 48 Hours)

  1. Avoid Sunlight and Bright Light: After PDT, your skin will be extremely sensitive to light. Avoid direct sunlight and bright indoor light for at least 24 hours.

  2. Protect Your Skin: When you need to go outdoors during daylight, cover treated areas with clothing or a hat. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen on treated areas even if it's cloudy.

  3. Keep the Treated Area Clean: Gently wash the area with mild soap and water. Pat dry without rubbing.

  4. Avoid Irritation: Refrain from activities that can irritate the treated area, such as shaving, waxing, or using depilatory creams until fully healed.

Ongoing Care (After 48 Hours)

  1. Continue to Protect from Sunlight: Even after the initial 48-hour period, the treated area will be more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid excessive sun exposure to prevent irritation and promote healing. Cover the treated area with clothing or a hat or use sunscreen if you are outdoors.

  2. Monitoring: Monitor the treated area for any signs of infection or unexpected reactions, such as increased redness, swelling, pus, or severe pain. If you notice any of these signs, contact the clinic immediately.

  3. Avoid Smoking: Smoking can delay the healing process. It's recommended to avoid smoking after PDT treatment.
